There are very few cameras with optical zoom between 5 and 10X.

So here is a comparison of cameras which are called budget super zoom.
Meaning they are about 10X zoom.

Let us know if this is what you are looking for.

Here is a link to a comparison of specifications:

http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/compare_post.asp?method=sidebyside&cameras=canon_sx120is%2Ckodak_z915%2Cnikon_cpl100%2Csony_dsch20&show=all

Since you prefer the Kodak Z915, that tells me that you are looking for a true point and shoot camera rather that a camera that would interest the more advanced photographer.

The Kodak and the Sony have the sharpest lenses of that group.

The Kodak does not have the manual controls that an intermediate photographer would want.
The colors from the Kodak are (as usual) just a bit brighter than everyone else.

The Nikon claims to have manual controls but they are very limited.
In some cases, even more limited than a point and shoot camera.

The Canon lens is disappointing because it is sharp in the middle but soft on the sides.

For you, I would say get the Kodak Z915.
Excellent picture quality, short shutter lag, 10X optical zoom; and all for less than $200.

The Canon SX120IS is the latest version of the SX110IS.
However the pictures from the SX110IS look better than the pictures from the SX120IS.

A person that wants to learn more about photography would be best served by the Canon SX110IS or the Sony H20. They have the necessary manual controls that are needed to take control of the camera during difficult photo situations. But to use those controls, be prepared to do some reading and learning.

A person that wants to take photos with a minimum of effort (let the camera do it all), they will be best served with the Kodak Z915.
It has an excellent 10X zoom lens, and takes very good photos.

I have more cameras that most people and some have Lithium batteries and some have AA batteries.
Always replace the AA batteries with rechargeable NiMH AA batteries.
Much cheaper and NiMH batteries last 4 times as long on a charge as Alkaline AA batteries last.

To me --- type of batteries is a "don't care".

Most cameras will take 150 or more photos on a charge.
Most people will not take that many photos in one outing.

But remember, a tiny camera will have a tiny battery.
Physics.
The bigger the battery, the longer it will last on a charge.

You can conserve batteries by not attaching the camera to your computer to download pictures. You will be drawing camera power all the time you are downloading.

Instead, buy a card reader.
Insert the memory card into the reader to download photos to your computer.
That uses no camera power.

"which is better sony or canon"?

Which is better, Chevrolet or Ford?

You will always get a subjective answer.
Subjective = taking place within the mind and modified by individual bias

I would pick the Sony H20 over the Canon SX120IS.
I would pick the Canon SX110IS over the Sony H20.
I would forget the Nikon L100.
"subjective answer"

suggesting a good camera

Hello,
There are lots of good cameras that you can manage from your web browser. Those webcams are very easy to use because they don't depend on your Os. The only thing that you need is your IP port and ip itself to get access to your camera. After setting port on your camera, allow firewall to access it and you are done. You can always use your camera at home or to live cast or as hidden cameras etc.

There are some good webcams of different brands which I recommend : Axis, Netcam, Streamer, Panasonc, Lynksys, TPLink .
