The problem is not the camera, all MiniDV produce high quality video, some have better have a better lense and thus a little better picture.
The problem is how you are capturing the video and then what quality( bit rate) you are using for your finished product.
If you have Windows Movie Maker II you can select the quality level thet it will use for capture, the defalt is setting is not very good.
Here is a link that lots of info. john

Could anybody suggest a good camcorder to buy that would allow me to: 1)Video a 30sec product demo, 2) Download it to a PC, and 3) Put the video clip onto a CD for people to watch on their PCs?
I heard the mini DV tapes are best for this, (true?)
I have firewire and USB connections.
I have only basic video PC tools (Windows Media).
An external mike would be nice.
Shooting in an office lighting environment.
Would prefer having some manual controls (focus, iris, etc.)
Have tried two camcorders so far, and the video played back on the PC and my plasma are very poor quality. Tried both .wmf and .avi and believe the problem is the poor camcorder resolution (JVC GR-DF550).
Any suggestions (techniques, products, features, etc.) would be greatly appreciated.
