SugarSync Alternatives?

Jan 15, 2015 4:38AM PST

Hi Cloud Lovers!

I have been a SugarSync user for years and love their service because they are the only ones among (google drive, dropbox, onedrive, box etc etc) that let you use your existing local file folder structure on your computer vs. having to sync to a specific sync/cloud folder which I do not like.

Sugarsync has not dropped their prices with the rest of the industry in the past 2 years - so I am looking for an alternative service but I have to have the existing folder structure and asyncronus sync features that sugarsync offers. Does anyone know of another cloud service that works with your existing folder structure?

The only one I found that was close was bitcasa but I tried them and it did allow existing folder structure but it didn't do asyncronus sync (syncing back and forth between devices - you delete a file on your laptop locally - it deletes it automatically on your desktop locally etc).

Let me know - I only have 2 weeks before I have re-up for a year on Sugarsync!

For me the fact the file does not auto delete is what I want

Nothing like a backup copy when you go oops.

True that Sugarsync allows you to choose folders. It's not the first I've used that does that.

However, Sugarsync is so abysmally bad in every other respect that virtually any other solution would be better. Sugarsync basically makes your computer unusable for 5-10 minutes after launch, as it completely hogs CPU. Customer service is nonexistent, prices are high, and, as you mentioned, they're basically a year or two behind everyone else.
