Suddenly no picture on my monitor

Windows 98
Celeron processor


Suddenly no picture on my monitor when I start up windows. However when I disconnect the monitor from the desktop it lights up.

So the BIOS boot screen shows?

Windows 98 has a way to fix that. Boot SAFE MODE and set the video to 800x600 then OK your way out this start, shutdown, reboot. Fixes it most of the time.

No it does not. I get nothing but when I disconnect the monitor from the desktop white static appears.

This machine needs repair or replacement.
