Question

Sudden high contrast brassy picture

by sylg / January 29, 2016 11:46 AM PST

I have a 37 inch Samsung TV LN27A550P3F. All of a sudden the picture turned brassy/metallic/high contrast. I read on the forum about new firmware as possible fix and also a path to try on the remote which instructed to hold the exit button on the remote to get another option. The remote has not been used in ages (Xfinity remote used) and it did nothing. I changed batteries to no avail. I tested the batteries on a meter and they were good. I must need a new remote to follow the instructions working with the HDMI aspect. Is there a remote I can get that will work all the functions of the original? Thirty seven inches is the largest that will fit in my entertainment center and I do not find this size anywhere so I need to get this fixed.

Thanking you in advance for any help.

Thank you for your information.
I have gotten the remote to work and followed the suggestions of unplugging HDMI cables, hold "exit" until reset option came then say yes to continue; answer all questions then power off, reconnect HDMI cables then power on and this did not fix the problem. Is there some firmware that I can install that might help? Any other suggestions?

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
