Question

sudden disappearing of data files on sd Card

Nov 17, 2014 3:13AM PST

well I have a mini SD card which I have inserted in my friend's PC, and now I cannot see the content of the media.

I also scanned the card for any viruses but none were found.

I can see the content in when I plug it in my TV, but not in my PC or Smartphone.

I do not want to format the card as I have personal files stored on it..

so, any idea what to do?

Noted at the top of the forum in the welcome thread. As to the personal files, where's the back up copies?

Answer
Adapter

Since this is a mini SD I am assuming that you are using an SD card adapter...out of curiosity what appears in My Computer when you insert the card in the system? Some and many adapters have a little slider on one side, which would lock the data so that you can't inadvertently delete or potentially damage the data on the chip...but that doesn't sound like the issue. You didn't say how the data was transferred to the chip on under what format, that might help. But first, what shows (the card) when you attempt to open or read from My computer.
