You didn't tell how you updated drivers for this machine. Even in Windows 7, it's still hard.
Bob
I just installed Home Premium from XP home. I prepared for upgrade by using PCMover, did a clean install and successfully restored most XP programs and all my files. Just a few programs wouldn't run even under the compatibility utility. eg Tuneup 2009. Strangely, Tuneup 2008 would run!
I was disappointed that I couldn't install the 64 bit version even though I have a 64 bit board and processor. I wonder why? (see PC spec below)
My remaining glitches are to do with Aero, rebooting and recovery from hibernation.
Just occasionally the system fails to come out of hibernation forcing me to reboot. Reasons? Just occasionally the system won't reboot until I go into safe mode. It then recovers without me tweaking anything. I can see no reason why.
Finally my issue with Aero is that I get occasional flickering around the edge of the screen and some windows. The biggest problem is with the media centre. This goes into a flickering spasm and breaks up, recovering briefly on ctrl alt delete/cancel. I feel that this is probably a graphics card problem because once in a while the screen goes black then recovers. This is followed by a graphics card failed and recovered message. I have downloaded the latest drivers from Nvidia and updated drivers generally.
Any help with these issues would be appreciated.
