I havea JBL and it also will get a little weird when listing a low volumes or very long pauses. For low volume listening, I just flip the switch to take it out of "Turn-On on Signal" and just turn it off after I am done. It is not often I need to do this, but when I do, it takes the issue off the table.
99% of the time the auto works just fine, but I have found some movies that have long quiet / low volume parts it will pop off unless I take it out of Auto Mode and just put it in Manual.
I recently updated my home audio system with definitive technology speakers and a yamaha RX 465 receiver. I kept my 3 year old infinity PS10 subwoofer thinking it would be fine. Well, everytime the sub receives a signal, it makes a wierd noise. It's not popping or feedback. It's like a record coming to a stop. More of a short (1-2 seconds) squeal. It does this everytime the sub goes into standby mode and then suddenly gets a signal. It happens more when I'm watching tv (direct tv) than any other time. Any body have ideas? I've been to best buy, video only and magnolia and no one has ever heard of this problem. I even took the sub in and the stores tested it and nothing was wrong with the sub. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.
