If ever you really have an unsolveable problem, just remember: Customer service and inevitably you will solve the problem while on hold.
It turns out that my beloved Samsung (sorry for the mental lapse in my original post) has a button on the remote (not the television) that allows you to reset Zoom 1 height while in "picture mode." And it actually works! Hoorah!
I have a new Sanyo LCD Television I am quite happy with. But it is my first LCD television and I've encountered a problem I never expected: Over half of the subtitled movies have subtitles that extend below the viewing field.
Is there a reason I can not adjust horizontal height to make those subtitles visible? I would think that either the television or the DVD player itself would have such a control. Most irritating is that this usually occurs in the auto-zoom screen in which there is available space in the black bands above and below the video area. Shifting this image upward would not degrade the video at all!
Am I missing something? Is there some simple button or process that will allow me to adjust video image height? I don't mind investing in a new DVD player, but I cannot afford to replace the television (and it's a damn good one anyway ... except for this one problem).
I've considered copying-software and investing in a dual-layer DVD writer, but I am concerned about the copying fidelity once the software tinkers with screen positioning.
Any suggestions, please?
