There are plenty of PCs that are sturdy but light enough for you to carry back and forth to class! The Toshiba Satellite T135-S1310 is under 4 lbs and very affordable at $699. The Dell Adamo is very study and also only weights 4 lbs. I found these suggestions through a tool called PC Scout. I just set your specs on the left hand side (in this case, weight was the biggest factor) and then the tool pulled up these results.
I recommend you try out this tool yourself and see if you find another other potential matches: http://www.microsoft.com/Windows/pc-scout/laptop-set-criteria.aspx?mode=landing

Hello! I will soon be looking for a laptop, but I'd like some advice on which you would recommend.
I'm not so concerned with multimedia stuff or even having a super huge memory (I figure that's what an external hard-drive is for). But I need it to be "sturdy." I'm a university student and I will be taking it on trips to the library, etc, in my backpack. I essentially I need something dependable, i.e. going to last a good few years, but not one of those huge huge laptops that weigh 25 lbs.
Price isn't a limiting factr, just not too too pricey.
Thanks so much!!
