stuck with wrong program date,and cant change it.pls help

hello,I am a marine tech,and working with different software programs to troubleshoot yamaha,seadoo,suzuki etc.
I put in a wrong date in one of the software by installation(I typed december 2014 instead of 2013,,and now my program will not open,as a window comes up that I have to put my system dat to this december 2014 date.I tried everything,system date,bios date,totally remove the program and install it back,,even with a totall removal program. whatever I do,when I start the software it tells me that I have to put in december 2014 or it will not open.problem is that it is a time sensitive program,and If I do that I will lose 1 full year subscription.I paid a lot of money for this. pls someone guide me in fixing this mistake.

Are you using Windows?

EG, Windows 7, or other Windows OS from XP onwards?

If so, instead of uninstalling, use Windows own "System Restore" utility to restore the system to the state it was before the date this program was first installed.

Then try again.

Apparently that date is written somewhere the uninstall doesn't remove it.

Things to try:
- manually find it in the registry and delete it
- system restore back to before you made this error
- contact the maker for help - he should know what to do
and finally:
- total reinstall of the OS and everything

delete and reinstall the software,
tried system restore
tried totall delete,even in registry keys etc.
tried Bios date etc.
asked the maker: kind of funny,, he was quiet for a moment and told me to call him back..
did not answer ever since.

everytime it just asks me to put my system date to december 2014.
I am bit out of options,,I think the program installed a file somewhere with the latest seen

about looking for it in registry myself,,how do I start??
if not,I will just reset the whole computer and install OS from scratch.
hope that this does not expire my paid for 1 year session.

Why not ask the author/company of the failed app? You pay for these things so get your money's worth.

techguy on vacation

hello Bob,
company is telling me their tech department specialist is on vacation,try in 2 weeks.
what kind of help is that.
I am not going to sit and wait 2 weeks.
for now i am stuck,wont try reinstalling OS,as I know i will lose the subscription.

What is this lose the subscription? All the apps I have used for years don't lose activation or such can be fixed with a phone call.

-> However this does point to a problem in your IT staff. Wouldn't they backup the PC at times so you could go back and try again?

Maybe they don't think it's worth backup?

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
