Was this version of Office 2010 included on the original install?
Was it a trial version (valid for 60 days or so) or is it the final version you still used before starting the recovery?

If it was on the original install and it's the final version, it SHOULD work. All you can do:
1. Try again from the start
2. Call Acer customer service, complain and have them sent the recovery disk(s) for free, because obviously something is wrong with the version on the recovery partition.
If those disks fail also, it most likely is a hardware issue. Then ask for a (free for you) separate copy of Office 2010.
