Struggling to locate and decide on a payroll software....

by julesking1992 / May 14, 2011 11:30 AM PDT

I am trying to find both a payroll and accounting software that is user friendly, and geared toward smaller businesses. I am offering payroll services in my area and had originally thought Quickbooks accountant was my choice due to the fact it allows you to add multiple companies books & is widely used in today's smaller businesses, but I learned that with that version of Quickbooks, it is manditory to maintain an online Payroll account with them, as opposed to processing and managing all aspects of payroll on your own?? Now I feel as though I am back to square one. Can anyone assist by suggesting an affordable payroll and accounting software that suits anywhere from 1 to 50 companies? Also, has anyone ever used Payroll Mate?

Quickbooks Enhanced payroll software
by lukeloescher / June 27, 2011 11:07 AM PDT

I did some research and it looks like the quickbooks payroll enhanced module only requires you to have an Internet connection so it can download tax info. The rest of the payroll is completely integrated into quickbooks itself. The addon is not that expensive to purchase, however it is subscription based billed annually. Check out my blog at for more information on Quickbooks and other IT related issues.
