Streaming video with media player and Windows Vista RC1

Oct 23, 2006 6:51PM PDT

I have Windows Vista RC1 installed. Everything is working fine.

The only thing that i can not solve is to streaming video working. So when i try to connect to a site with streaming video it's start buffering and then after a 10 seconds stops. The error is that it can not connect.

It's working with Windows XP.

Does this sound familiair to someone?

Thanks!

It's a problem in the registry I think. Nero installed itself as the default media player on my computer. I've read the Roxio has been doing the same thing on others. It must be a flw in Vista that's allowing this to happen. I can't get Vista to make Windows Media Player my default player in the registry.

Going Control Panel->Programs->Set Your Default Programs and setting WMP as the default? Also try "Make a file type always open in a specific program" and associate MP3, WMA, etc with WMP.

Hope this helps,
John
