Strawberry iMac to MBP 2011 downloads?

Jul 1, 2014 4:24AM PDT

Hi

I have a Strawberry iMac that is in the UK and I want to download that info to an external HDD so I can upload it to my MBP 2011. Will I be able to this with a firewire from the the iMac to the HDD and then reverse it on the MBP?

Thank you
Jerry

Your MBP should have a Firewire 800 port

on the back.
You will need either;
1. Firewire 800 to 400 cable OR an adapter that does the the job
2. Firewire 400 cable AND a 800 to 400 adapter.

The iMac has Firewire 400 and the Macbook Pro has Firewire 800. Of course, they both take a different connector.
