It could be a new web designer trying to impress a client.
I've never seen the likes of this:
I want to stay a night at HoJo's at LAX. I accessed the Reserve page from here:
chose a room, and moved to the page to make the reservation. Although requesting personal info, including credit card, etc., there's no padlock showing encryption. Page Info also states No Encryption. However, a Verisign graphic near the bottom when clicked shows proper verification. (???)
What good is verification over an unencrypted connection? Weird. After countless online reservations over the years, that's a first for me.
Needless to say, I left it blank.
I'm using Firefox 3 on XP SP2.
