Strange thing happened

by SLeizman88 / May 18, 2005 10:49 AM PDT

Today my computer started acting slow and froze a couple of times, and I only have one user account but the User Accounts screen in the control pannel showed a second which I deleted but I forgot the exact name (something.net)however there was only one (my only account) shown on the log-on screen. I am firewalled and AVG didn't detect any viruses and no spyware was found, any help?

the Zonealarm Firewall settings seemed to have changed, the Host File was unlocked (used to be locked) and the Trusted Zone security was at medium (used to be high)

..and nothing came up, none of my browsers are hijacked, but I'm worried about people seeing my computer. I turned all of the Zonealarm settings on high and locked the host file, I also uninstalled all of my P2P programs (Limewire and Bittornado)is my computer still open to hackers?

but if you've been P2P as you say, who knows what could be there still. Try some second opinion scans here.

They are all free except for the trojan removers but you can get a 30 trial with them. I already gave you a link for cwshredder.
Download anti-trojan (any of the following)

The Cleaner Pro 30 days trial - http://www.moosoft.com

TrojanHunter - http://www.misec.net/ (trial)

Also do an online scan at one or all of these.
Housecall (using IE with Active-X)

Housecall (all browsers using java)
