Strange Taskbar behaviour

Jun 8, 2005 11:16PM PDT

Suddenly, for no reason I could see, my Task Bar was at double height and wouldn't "pull down" to single height unless I turned off the Quick Launch Toolbar. As soon as I reactivated the Quick launch bar the Task Bar popped up to double height again. Reducing the number of icons in the QL bar (there were only 10) didn't help. Nor did locking/unlocking.

How can I get rid of this annoying behaviour?

With the toolbar unlocked

look at the left hand side of the toolbar at the blank windows area, not the quick launch, assuming that it's above the quicklaunch area, and see if there is a vertical bar that gets a double edged arrow if you hover the mouse over it. If so, press down on it and drag it to the right hand side of the QL area and it will move that line to that spot instead and you should be rid of the double taskbar now.

Toni's fix worked but I've kept a note of the additional advice just in case.
