Might be a fix, might not: If you can get into the recovery console of the windows XP CD then try a fix master boot record. However this may get rid of your ubuntu dual boot option.
I have a Dell Vostro laptop with Windows XP Professional edition running on it. Also I have Ubuntu installed from Windows. Recently I couldnt boot from XP. But I can successfully boot from Ubuntu. If i press Windows Xp to boot it starts booting ,windows logo appears for a second and goes through a continual loop, restarts and gives 5 options like boot in safe mode, command line, networking, last good configuration,... I couldnt boot from any of the modes. Also I tried booting from an XP cd. But it says "no boot device found". But while trying to boot other OS es through a live CD, I can succeed booting.
I ran the system diagonostic tests and i got the message everything is fine.
What may be the problem?
Please help me out.!
