Strange problem

Jun 11, 2006 3:49PM PDT

Hi all:

I've been having a strange thing happen to me the last day or so; when I try to log on to various sites , a window pops down and ask me to enter my info. This happens over and over until I click cancel, and I can never log in; this happens on Firefox, Safari, Camino, etc.

I don't know if this has anything to do with keychain access or something like that. My keyboard has gone crazy; the o, l and period do not work , so I reset my password to something that has no o or l. Whether that has anything to do it, IDK. Thanks in advance!

We may be clever on this forum but have not yet developed our psychic powers to the degree that you seem to need.
We can deduce that you are running some sort of Mac, using some version of OS X but that's about it.
Not being a user of MySpace, I can only assume that it requires you to log in before you can do anything. Seems normal to me.

Have you tried another keyboard?

Pass along more info and we'll try to help

To Me Also

While waiting for the writer's specs, I'll add that I also experienced this phenomenon, but only on this very site. Each time after clicking on this forum in bookmarks, Firefox would prompt me for my password. Nearly all sites, of course, including newspapers require that one be 'registered', but it only occurred suddenly while going to this site. I easily stopped this prompting by deleting the password/email address for this forum from FF's preferences. Good Luck

Thanks for that

When you say "only on this very site" do you mean MySpace or do you mean this very site-CNET?

Personally, when any browswer or the OS volunteers to remember a username and password for the Web, I refuse the offer.

I'm reluctant also to 'book' too much personal info anywhere, but otherwise too much personal memory or time is required to respond to all the prompts. The problem site was Cnet - This very forum...Don't 'do' MySpace; I tried once; sent them a lovely action shot of me, but it was rejected as too depressing for the younger participants....Hava goodie, Eric

What do you mean you're not psychics?

Well, you're close enough, it would seem!

Anyway, the problem seems to have fixed itself. Sorry to waste you time, Miss Cleo! Wink
