I don't use Avast, my av is AVG, and yet, when I use function "netstat -ano" in command prompt, an Avast IP pops up as a connection "established". I dont know for how long its been happening, but I must point out that last week I might have accidentaly downloaded a virus (I dont know for certain, but fact is that a file downloaded from Chrome to my desktop when I was visiting a site without my consent). The "virus" file was shredded, and neither AVG nor Malwarebites nor Spybot detected anything malicious. But since then Ive noticed small strange occurrences, like laptop turning on again while on sleep mode (never happened before), or caps lock being suddenly on after leaving the laptop running for a while. Should I be freaking out? Is there a certain way to find out whether its a virus or not? Do you reccommend a wipe and reload? By the way, laptop is an old-ish Dell Inspiron, system is Windows 7. Thanks in advance.
