Use a cadre of tools. So I'll list them and end with my power tool.
3. Boot to SAFE MODE and delete it.
4. Boot to SAFE MODE, log in under my spare admin account and delete them.
And my power tool. Boot up from my UBUNTU CD and mouse click around to that drive and delete them.
These are usually leftovers from updaters that hopefully get cleaned up later and I won't cover the malware angle again today so here's my solutions for you to pick over or not.
I have a number of strange folders appearing on both my boot drive and auxilary drives. They have designations like c354218bd7200b417096997f and contain, in some cases, a single folder called Update, or in others, a load if misc files. Can anyone tell me if I need these folders, or whether they can be deleted? When I try to delete normally I get an access denied message. Thanks, Larry
