This is an area that fails on desktops. Latest BIOS is needed plus some assurance that IBM supports XP on the machine. Sometimes MOTHERBOARD DRIVERS and more need updatign. MICROSOFT does not do this for us.

Can someone help a computer illiterate like myself with a strange problem? Ever since I upgraded to XP Pro from Windows 98, my keyboard sometimes doesn't work when I come out of hibernation (about half the time). My computer recognizes it and the task manager says it's installed and working properly and the lights are lit, but nothing. I have to go back to hibernate then wake up. Sometimes I can go back to hibernate then wake up like 15 times, but my keyboard just won't work. If I restart then it always works. I tried new keyboards (both usb and serial) but same porblem!! I installed new drivers- but same problem. It's just so annoying! There is no common denominator to when and why this happens. It's just so random. I have an IBM aptiva, and it works fine and the keyboard works completely fine except for this issue coming out of hibernation. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thank You
