Question

Strange Freezing

by Uriah_ / December 13, 2015 12:03 PM PST

Hello!

I resently seen small but anoying freezes happening on my laptop. It happends rather I'm typing or gaming or watching a video.

The programs don't freeze it's a bit like if another invisible window opend up for a second and if i click i go back to the screen i was using nothing happends visually. It's starting to get really frustrating like sudden freezes and messings ups. This started only 2 weeks ago and I've never seen something like it.
Thanks

Turn off automatic scanning in Antivirus and see if that stops it.

Try the usual canned air on the vents (how is on the web) and tell me it's not a Seagate HDD.

...may exist on MSI motherboards running AMD processors even in windows.

http://www.linuxmint.com/rel_rosa_mate.php
"If you own an AMD CPU with an MSI card and your computer keeps rebooting, please check the following bug report: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1309578"

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1309578
Please read the problem and others duplicating it on the MSI and AMD setup.

I suspect this is a motherboard problem that affects BOTH Linux and Windows users.
