Strange email situation

by needanswer / August 13, 2010 10:06 PM PDT

I have MacMini which has been using MacMail with gmail for quite awhile without problems. But now, after larger email attachments were sent, I cannot receive emails at all.

This happened in July too, after a 13.5 MB attachment had been sent, but it finally healed itself. This time, after a 2.4 MB photo, it's lasting longer. I know I can give up on MacMail and use gmail online exclusively, which is what I'm doing now, but I much prefer MacMail with gmail.

MacMail has not been able to receive email for a week. However, the RSS from Apple with its promotions has been putting messages in that file during this otherwise non-functioning week.

I can send one email at a time, but only as I disconnect from the internet. The message bar works and works and the indicator only gets halfway across. But after disconnecting, one second later, the characteristic swoosh sound of a sent message will be heard. However, strangely enough, the message appears in the Sent folder in gmail online BEFORE the message appears to be sent from MacMail..

Can you help me out?

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
