But I did it on purpose. It's a 2009 D5000t Core2Quad CPU but only 2GB RAM. It's going to get recycled (student with no PC) and I wanted to get them with the latest OS.
For a 2GB machine it's actually usable. It seems most of the delays is in the hard disk speed so if I have time I'll try it with the 34 dollar 120GB SSD I snagged last week.
The only driver I had to go find manually was for the video card but that was EASY compared to some since it was some Nvidia. I installed Nvidia's Geforce Experience app and well, it was easy.
I was given an old laptop On the bottom it said the make was a carbon15
cpu t3200 2.00gh
ram 2 gb
32 bit system
297 gb HDD
It had vista as the op.
I put a clean install of win 7 and it activated. updted all win updates. Took about 18 hours.got the upgrade to windows 10 request but didn't know if I could find drivers. had not seen Bob Proffits note about not clicking on the x in the upper right corner and bang win 10 downloded and installed. I have been running it,including wifi on the internet, several days with no issues. Device Mgr does not show any yellow markers.
I am sharing this because of all the complaints I read here about Win10. I have 5 computer I upgraded to 10, did all the driver updates first, and have not had the first error message or bsd.
Altho this is the first upgrade I have done without updating all drivers so don't know what the future holds..
