As to the battery, LiON does store well at above freezing temperatures. My advice is to leave it as is, find a plastic bag (ziploc type) and some dessicant. Pull as much air out and then with the dessicant in the bag seal it up. If your place is quite warm and your fridge doesn't dip below 0C (freezing) then put it there. You'll arrest the aging process for many months.
When you're back let it sit for a day to warm back up prior to reuse.
The same plastic bag and dessicant for the laptop can be employed but do not chill it.
I have a Dell laptop I purchased about six months ago. It's been used regularly up to this point. For the next few months it will not be used. Should I remove the battery pack? If I leave the battery pack off for a few months do I lose any settings or anything else in the computer or does the small system battery hold whatever is needed so I can boot up again in a few months? Besides the battery and safe, cool, dry storage, is there anything else I should be concerned about?
Thank you in advance.
