Storage Problem (Urgent Help appreciated)

Well i had a problem with my 120 gig hard drive, so i decide to reinstall windows.. but halfway i find out that the serial is wrong so the install is left halfway and i cant do anything about it... so i have another hard drive hooked up, so i install windows on that drive to get back files on the 120 gig... on the 120, some files i can get back but my important music file says that it is not accessible "acces denied".. so im in a pickle, is there any recovery program i could use to repair the my music folder so i can transfer it to my other hard drive? thanks for the help this is critical..i already tried virtual lab and ghost but i dont even know what to do

If I am reading you correctly, your product ID code input did not match that of the original installation. I have had a similar experience in that I have multiple "legal" OS copies but tend to use only one and just read off the ID code from another CD sleeve during an installation. I won't point you there but can tell you that there are utilities that can extract the product ID code from an installation. This is what I do when I get confused. Good luck.
