Stop smart hub from showing on bottom of screen

Mar 10, 2015 9:54AM PDT

Just purchased Samsung 65 inch 7100. How do I stop the smart hub ribbon from appearing on bottom of screen when I first turn the TV on? Thanks.

So far you have to turn it off.

You didn't tell a few things.

1. The full model number.
2. If you were OK with losing Smart Hub and turning it into a HDTV.

Why would I want to lose Smart Hub? I'm just wondering if there is a way to stop the ribbon appearing on the bottom everytime I turn it on. Thanks.

You can ask Sam but remember Smart Hub is not about you.

In the USA call 1800SAMSUNG to ask and get an answer in minutes.

Agreed.

I don't mind checking the docs and if Samsung won't document this, it's going to be rough going.

The support here is a toll free number and for items like this is pretty good. I'd use that.

Here's some useful advice

Be polite when help is offered. It may not be what you want, but it's better than getting a rep and being ignored.

Agreed

I was not trying to be rude. I was referring to some replies that had absolutely nothing to do with what I was looking for help with. I do agree that any info is good info. My apologies to anyone I offended.

The only method that works across all models

Is to turn off Smart Hub. Given smart hub's motives I share that so you know that. I know folk sometimes get really upset over the need for model numbers.

It's a mystery why Samsung doesn't put this in the product docs consistently.
