Blathan,
Thanks for posting your information. It's good to hear success stories. Unfortunately, "Lop.com" isn't always that easy to remove. It's not really a "virus", but instead "malware/homepage hijacker/spyware" and the link below should help you manually identify any "remnants" that might still be placed on your computer.

Hope this helps.

I solved a problem that I want to share with those that may have gone through the same thing. Out of the blue I started getting these pop-ups over and over again on my desktop even though I was not browsing the net and had Internet Exployer closed (I'm connected by DSL). I cleaned my system using various spy-bot and virus cleaners and still the pop-ups continued.
Then out of the blue I thought "what looks different about my desktop?" I didn't really notice anything out of the ordinary until I stared at the icon on my desktop for Internet Exployer. If was the usual Blue E symbol but its title was Explore Internet. I right clicked to view the properties and like the song says WHOOP THERE IT IS!! It was linked to www.lop.com A VIRUS!!!!!!! I deleted the icon and like magic, no more pop ups!
I hope it helps those who experienced the same issue.
