Could be a setting in Outlook (though the default setting would not account for this, it may have been changed). bear with me 'cos I'm using an older version of Outlook. Go into your mail account properties (Tools - Accounts - Properties).
Click the 'Advanced' tab. Here you should see an option saying "Leave a copy of messages on server". It should NOT be ticked. Untick if necessary.
Before cable we used AOL for emails. With cable and now Windows XP Home we use Outlook 2003. It seems Outlook sends a copy of every incoming message to AOL, so we have kept a small contract with AOL just so that we can go in and periodically delete emails. We could just cancel AOL but didn't like the idea of our emails piling up on some server somehwere. Does anyone know how to address this?
Many thanks indeed, Alison
