Question

Stop others from appearing on my private wireless network

Jul 5, 2015 12:17AM PDT

When I start up my desktop and wait for my automatic connection, and when it does I notice 3 other networks appearing on my Internet access panel along with mine. However, only my network appears under the Network and Sharing Center. Anyway, is there anyway I can block the others from showing up there?

My OS is Win 7. Thank you for your advice.

Best Menk

Windows will show all WiFi networks that are in range. These are not on your network.

I bet someday Microsoft will tweak that to allow you to ignore and not show them.

to know the other signals in your area. For one thing if they are both on the same channel as you are using, then best to change channel used on your router. You can also see strength, to see if one is strong enough it could be interfering with your signal accsss.
