stop error

Hi all; I added some ram to a compac 5000 today and got this stop error.
0x00000024(0x001901fd,0x80f5aae0,0xc0000032,0x00000000)
All i have been able to find is that it could be a ntfs error, or hardware error.Yes i did pull the new stick. I can get into the bios and it seems ok, then a screen comes up to start normal or last good, or safe and a couple other options. Whatever i choose it ends up with the blue screen of death and same stop error.I have been searching micro$oft and google all evening to no avail.Sure hope one of you nice folks can guide me. Thanks in advance Jimdaddy

Hi jimdaddy, think i have good news for you. I just recovered from the same problem.

Restart your compaq with OS installation CD in the CD-Drive. restart will alos be a problem i guess. in that case last option is remove the battery and reinserting it. At the very start, push 'esc' that allows you to change boot sequence to CD-ROM. As you have already placed the OS-CD there you can install windoes again (or repair it if it is possible).

Good Luck~
