Stop drivers during boot up.

by BigBill / August 23, 2004 2:15 PM PDT

I forgot what the key sequence is to stop the drivers from loading during boot up.

I thought it was to hold down the two shift keys during boot up but they are not the ones.

Anyone remember?

Thanks....

If you keep control-key pressed or press f8 once a second while you read "Starting Windows 98 ..." you enter the boot menu. That might be what you mean?

I am referring to disabling the "Startup group items" which you can also disable manually in MSCONFIG.

The key sequence I am looking for does this to help speed up the boot process for debugging.

I am using 98se.

Drivers aren't listed in the Startup tab of MSCONFIG. It's not clear to me what you want. I hope the references by Bob are of help to you.

The Samsung RF23M8090SG

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
