Question

still looking for a free safe Cd to mp3 converter

Apr 10, 2016 12:40PM PDT

I cannot trust anything that is advertised, even on c net.

I tried Lame but it was so complex that I could not get it to work properly. I could not put the name of the album on the mp3 file.

Is there any thing that is free any that actually works? with out any Trojan virus or glitches?

rip CD's to WAV

http://cdex.mu/features

Then you can import the WAV file and change to MP3. Audacity can do the WAV to MP3 conversion too.

You know, all these years I been using...

VLC as a media player but never as a converter (didn't know it was there). I just converted a cd to flac, no need to rip it wave first, not bad..although a bit slower than some other I have used. It should be able to do mp3 as well.

Apr 11, 2016 10:50AM PDT

ok I will read the instructions on wiki at home. got too may things to do here now.

freac I think I got off C Net and it had a Trojan virus, some one should check that out. or maybe it was another one I got off C net.....?

EAC is the go to ripper for audiophiles
Apr 11, 2016 12:37PM PDT

who want an Exact Audio Copy. EAC does convert to mp3 and lossless formats. You need to learn how to use the program, because there is a learning curve. The Ashampoo program is simple to use, but is nagware, as I stated above.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ubuntu_Studio

https://ubuntustudio.org/tour/

http://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=ubuntustudio

It has all sorts of audio and video programs, mixers, etc

Can run LIVE from DVD, or USB, or a virtual hard drive (VHD, VDI), or install to a hard drive. If running in "LIVE" mode on DVD and on USB with no persistence set, then save all changes to your hard drive, because LIVE mode is only in a RAMDRIVE and it all is gone soon as it's closed. So make all saves to hard drive.

List of all programs.

I was going to use on teen's computer
Apr 11, 2016 4:57PM PDT

But it was more than she wanted, she's more into art and painting, music is for listening and not arranging it seems. However her current boyfriend was very interested, so I showed him how to install the ISO or create VHD in Virtual Box program. He comes over with his guitar, so figured it was of interest to him.

Cd to mp3 converter
Apr 24, 2016 11:47PM PDT

Use any online converter. They are very much on the Internet.

That's news to me. Please share such a web site.
Apr 25, 2016 8:02AM PDT

To me online means that the conversion and ripping would be all done in the browser via that online web site.

Let's share what you found.
