Still have problems

by hinz67 / November 19, 2005 1:22 AM PST

Like I said before, thanks for the tips. But, I am still not getting additional windows that I open up to become maximized as well. For example, when I clicked on the link to get to this page, it only came up as a partial window. Any tips on how to get windows opened subsequent to the first to be maximized as well?

thread??? It would have percolated to the top of the first page. Now I have no indea what tips that you have been given and what didn't work.

Also, exactly what do you mean by "a partial window" is there information missing or just that the size is not full screen.

Please reply in the original thread and possibly the answer will appear.

following the advice in this post EXACTLY?

As Ray said, you should always continue your problem in the thread you got the help in because without some unnecessary "detective work" no one kows what advice was given.

IF you follow that advice (in the link above) EXACTLY and step by step it will work (it sounds like you are resizing the second window but not closing out and everything reverts). It will also work from the Desktop icon whose properties only show the Internet Options dialog box.

The key is to NOT MAXIMIZE with the maximize button but to resize manually by dragging the edges of the window so size can be "remembered".

There is an alternative if you like full screen and that would be to use KIOSK mode (starting from a shortcut with the command line being - "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" -k (using the correct path of course). All subsequent new windows from that instance will be full screen. Major drawback is that you will need to use TaskManager to close the initial instance because F11 won't switch.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
