Well discussed it seems.

I recently switched from XP Pro 32bit to Win7 64bit and after I re-installed STEAM, I logged in (notice I said LOGGED IN) and set up the games for use on my new OS and everything was fine, and played a little Half-Life2 on it. Now, however, when I try to log in to STEAM I get a message that says the following
______________________________________________________________
Login to STEAM failed.
Either the user account does not exist, or the password was wrong.
Please check your account name and password and try again.

My user/account name and password have not changed since I first set up my account on STEAM, so I have ho idea why it is doing this. I have tried the "retrieve a lost account" option, but have not received any email to the address the account is linked to, even though I get a message saying it has been sent, and it is not in the spam folder either FYI. I do not play Counter Strike online, I am strictly a single player gamer, so I did not, as someone else on another site accused me of, get banned for cheating in Counter Strike.
And, as I feared, when I made another account with one of my other email accounts, I couldn't use my legally purchased games from VALVE because they have already been installed and registered with the account that STEAM won't let me log in to. I have tried contacting STEAM's "help" desk multiple times, but lo and behold, have received no help at all. Basically I am screwed with about $300 dollars of software that I now can't use because STEAM won't let me log in, so it seems I have been SOLed by VALVE and its STEAM platform.
Has anyone else had this happen and if so how did you get it fixed?
