Stealth Port 80 Using Norton Internet Security

Hi!
i dont know if anyone can help me or not, i have got norton internet security 2004 and am very woried about my laptop being hacked into so i decided to run the online security scan that symantec offer. i found that port 80 is open and can be hacked. seeing as the website said i do not need to have this open unless i am running a web server (and im not) i decided to stealth it but dont know how and the help option is not much help.

does anyone know how i can stealth port 80 using norton or anyhting else i can use?

aman,
you have to shut domn ( or uninstall ) you IIS service.
depending which OS you are using;
i expect you will have to uncross IIS it in the WINDOWS COMPONENTS.
( this is the internal windows web server which i assume you are not using )

Removing HTTP Ports

I was having the same problem with Norton Internet Security 2005, and have just found how to solve it:
- Open Norton Internet Security
- Click on the Options tab, and select Norton Internet Security
- On the window that opens, click on the Firewall tab
- On the HTTP port list, highlight 80, then click on Remove, then OK
After this, when you run the Security Check again, there shouldn't be any hacker threats. I would think you should be able to do the same with Norton Internet Security 2004.
