That shows us all the screens we could see in both XP and 7. For 7, you would uncheck the obtain address automatically and fill in the numbers you want to use.

I want to assign a Static IP address to one of the PCs on our LAN. I know how to handle the router end but I don't know how to work with Widows 7. Is there someplace where I can read up on this?

And if you need a little more about what each does, I can write a little about it but short of a tutorial. For example some tinker with netmask and then wonder why it fails.
