Static Discharge from 37LG50 lcd-tv

Dec 6, 2011 5:38AM PST

Has anyone else experienced sharp static-discharge(s) from their LG flat-panel tv? Our 37LG50 is only 3-4 yrs. old. We heard one occasionally when it was new. Now the zaps happen several times an hour, and the screen has just started to "black-out" for a minute or so. Anyone know of a fix?(We did call LG customer support. They were very helpful and gave us several suggestions, but we tried them all, and none worked)

How much did that end up running you?

We have just been informed by LG Customer Service that the flat-panel tv set will have to be repaired. FYI this is very disappointing given that the set is only 3-4 yrs. old and has had VERY light use (no more than 5-10 hrs. a week).
