States Price Gouging

No not gas ... college tuition!

Since 2000, state college tuition up 40%

This is actually a real time example of how increased government subsidy just inflates the cost of the subsidized commodity/service. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that the States decided to get their piece of the Federal pie of education dollars!

But, it's all worth it,

Adults with a bachelor's degree working a typical year-round job get paid on average 60 percent more than adults with only a high school diploma, the report found. College graduates also lead healthier lifestyles and are at lower risk of obesity and heart disease, according to the report.

{they don't specify if the HS Diploma group contains unemployed}

Seems someone ...

... equated these levels of inflation with Greed Personified about a year ago. (No gang I'm not looking back for statements, only saw this when responding to the good news/old news issue about infant mortality)

How dare the education monopoly profiteer on the backs of those that need education most -- those too "poor" to attend private colleges!

I think that the student loans feeds these increases

I wouldn't be able to go to college if there had been tuition and the state university. These leaves kids with enormous debts that they can't get rid of through bankruptcy. It also causes bad schools to get into the action and swindle kids with promises of relevant classes and non-existent good jobs afterward.
