Time to send it back. This item which I read https://www.avforums.com/threads/difference-between-samsung-one-connect-and-one-connect-mini.1949286/ and other posts is nothing I'd invest in. I get more out of other boxes like Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and Roku.
Hello - I am amazed that Samsung shipped this TV with such a bad firmware. I struggled with the TV setup for 5 hours last night before giving up. I have submitted a Samsung Support ticket and hope Samsung Customer Service will resolve the issue, else I will have to send this back.
Now, on to the issue/question itself. Thanks in advance to any help/advise offered! Am excited to get my TV working!
Upon unboxing, I connected the One Connect Mini, plugged in the TV and switched it on. After ~5 screens of a setup walkthrough, which included connecting to WiFi network, I am stuck on the final setup screen, with a "Updating TV Software" screen. My home WiFi is fine, other devices on the network work just fine. I chatted with Samsung Support and they could not help (they suggested submitting a support ticket). After reading online/various forums, I tried various things = updating firmware via USB, connecting TV directly via wired LAN cable, but nothing helped! Ugh! For a brief time I was also stuck in a One Connect Mini reboot loop as well!
Right now, the TV is a nice show-piece hanging off the wall, doing nothing much else.
