Startup problem.

Sep 13, 2006 6:18PM PDT

I recently had a new Maxtor 250 GB internal hard drive installed in my Gateway 820GM computer (running XP Home Edition) to back up my original WD 250 GB internal hard drive and now every time I shut down my computer, upon start up, I have to hit Ctrl/Alt/Delete, then F2, then to the Boot up screen and finally, go to the indicator for my original WD hard drive and hit "enter" in order to get my computer to boot up normally. It's not difficult to do, but is inconvenient and I would think there is some simple means of getting my computer to boot up normally. Can anyone suggest what the problem is and how I can get my computer to boot up normally?

The Western Digital HD is the primary and the new Maxtor is used only to backup the WD in case something goes wrong with it.

The WD drive is the master and the new Maxtor is the slave.
