startup not happening

by evel_chihuahua / July 26, 2009 7:50 AM PDT

I'm not exactly sure of my tech specs, and my pc won't startup at all, so I can't easily find out.

But here's the situation: Have had PC for about 11/2 years. Never had any problems, have not recently changed anything, no new software or hardware. Turn computer on as usual, just get a succession of beeps, about 2 secs. apart, continually. Nothing appears on moniter. Checked all connections. Unplugged and replugged. Again nothing. Any suggestions?

Without a make or model all that can be said is that the beep's code means something. If you don't have make or models then we can decode the message and you'll be taking it to a repair counter.

Does the power supply stay on? Is the fan running after all of this occurs? If not, it could be a PSU failure. If the PSU runs but there is no video output (monitor doesn't light up) second guess would be a video failure but it could be other motherboard issues as well, need a bit more information.
