starting xp...help

Thanks for all the help so far guys, now that i have backed allt he needed files i can reinstall xp...

I downloaded xp from my friends computer...it rar format...i unrared it and burned in the cd using neros data burning.....when i put the burned cd in my friends xp it automatically loads up (autorun) but when i put it in mine and reboot, it wont load up anything...

it goes to the screen where it says start with safe mode, normal mode etc...if i choose any of the option it restarts and comes back to the same screen..

i do have the boot sequece as cd rom first...

what am i doing wrong?

when you say "downloaded XP" do you mean the XP installation disk - you haven't told us what you are trying to achieve or what problems you have had. So please explain exactly what you have downloaded - sound like you have attempted to just copy the windows directory from your friends computer onto a CD - if so you have no chance of it working. It may work on your friends because he has the operating system on his hard disk.
And where is your installation disk??? why not just do a repair with your disks if you have a legal copy.

Why are you posting multiple posts. You have 2 previous posts, so why start up another??? You have not given us feed back on both of these posts but now still want HELP in a hurry.
