Starting a web design business

Jun 23, 2007 1:40AM PDT

I'm starting a web design business. Adobe cs_ products are out of my budget. What are some cheap (or free) programs that are decent?

What's a search engine?

What did you find with google.com?

I don't want to see you get hurt too badly but I'd expect a web designer to not post such a question but hit a search site first.

You could try

WebPlus

I've never tried it myself, but it looks good. The only thing is that it looks "too" easy, which means you may not have many customization options.

CoffeeCuo

I know a few people who use and like this software, personally, I remember when I tried it and didn't like it. It's free to try and cheap to buy.

Hope this gets you started, if not, just do a quick search on downloads.com for some more software!

Hope this helps.

bob if you dont want to help....what about not answering?

Anyway, I know a perfect place to find what you want...
go to cnet tv
and look for "Make your own CS3 for free", it will help you a lot, Tom Merrit goes through a good free alternative for each of the Adobe's CS3 products!

Just asking.

Can you imagine a web design business that doesn't know about search? That's not a good sign.

I tried my best to not be cruel about this.

i can see your point, but just look at this case, i dont think he would have found out about the video from cnettv in google (depending on the keywords he would use)
Besides, sometimes I do know the answer but I post so that I can find out what other designers and people who probably have more experience than me, think of that. And it's pretty usefull.

I'm just mad because this used to be a great forum, maybe there are too many people.
And moderator sometimes remind of cops...hahaha....just kidding.

Fish or fishing lessons.

That about sums it up. Handing out fish is fine and I think this is what this forum is good for. You'll have some hand out the fish and some like me will write about how to find things. Between both the members get both barrels. (ahh, I meant the best of both approaches.)
