How to restore the machine to factory settings. You may have to restore from your backup and a few files but it's faster than trying to find out what they broke.
My Fujitsu LifeBook T4020D (great machine) no longer has the Standby/Hibernate power option available. I used to use the Standby function all the time and it was great to just close the lid and have it "sleep" until my next usage. I recently had some video problems (son used the laptop - need I say more?) and had to call Fujitsu Tech Support to get it working properly again, so it may be that something we did/undid during that process messed up the BIOS settings or something. I have already downloaded and installed the latest video driver from Fujitsu, but that didn't help. I know the machine is ACPI-compliant and it had to have had the APM installed at some point for Standby/Hibernation to be active, but I don't know how to get it back. The battery is getting sucked dry several times a day, and it's a pain to have to keep plugging in while I'm on the go.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
