Because Verizon tends to jam extra apps you can't remove on the device and it's well discussed how the battery times are lower than average due to these.
You may want to re-think V as a carrier since T-mobile at 50 a month is hard to beat today.

I want to use the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 as a phone, I don't know which one to get, the standard or the Verizon version. I won't always be near a wifi hotspot so if I got the standard Tab would I need to set up my own hotspot gizmo and pay for data service? The Verizon Tab comes with 4glte built in and I would need to pay Verizon for data. The standard Tab is about $179.00 and the Verizon Tab is about $299.00
Thanks
