I had Viewsonic CRTs for years but went for an HP LP1965 for an LCD. I like it fine but it's a bit dated now. The best of the old LCDs I have is a 19" Princeton. I think they may be out of business. I think that size fits my needs right now. The 17s and 19s both tended to have the same native resolution but the larger size is better for my eyes. The best way to monitor shop is to go look at them for yourself if you can. Another thing to consider is glare. I want no screen or bezel glare at all. Shine is distracting to me. Good luck shopping.
Hi, All.
I've been looking for a new monitor (something bigger than my current 17-inch) for a Dell Studio XPS 8100 desktop and would like very much to avoid going to a widescreen format, despite their current prevalence. I don't intend to use the computer for movies, but moreso for standard MS Office stuff, web browsing, home photo and video editing, some light gaming, etc.
Those that keep cropping up are the Dell E190S ($220) and UltraSharp 1907FP/2007FP ($375) as well as the ViewSonic VA926 ($270)/VA926G ($175). There seem to be significant price differences between brands and models here but it's hard for me to discern which specs are really the most important for my intended usage. Can anyone help me differentiate between these products, hopefully to the point of making a decent decision in choosing one?
Thanks in advance!
