You need to install linux so you can get an idea if it's some OS/Driver issue. Some install XP and forget that Microsoft does not update BIOS and drivers for us. Also, Microsoft's OS don't tell us good error messages.
I'd load the linux given the information in your post.
Nothing was told about what the machine's supplier is doing to correct the problem.
I Need some help to keep XP running without a serious crash, this isn't a short term problem I can run XP for maybe 24 hours if I'm lucky. The problem is that I use a windows XP machine for data acquisition (using LABView 7) from an experiment that runs 24 hours a day 7 days a week. I can write work arounds in my code to save the data as time goes on so that if there is a crash everything isn't lost. I've stopped windows updates and Virus guard update in fact I've pulled the LAN cable out of the back of the PC and disabled the network.
It is hot in the laboratory where the computer is used ~30oC but the computer is in a ventilated area so I don't think the heat is an issue. Now I'm running out of ideas short of installing Linux and running the software in wine.
Can anybody help ?
